Yes, the ever-popular game is back! For those who've forgotten, the rules are:

1. One of us quotes an episode (and tells us which season it's from).
2. The rest of us try and guess what episode the quote comes from.
3. The winner (and ONLY the winner - no barging in, please) sets the next one.
4. Like ccb's quizzes, only checking the actual episode is allowed (no other resources, for example books written by Susan Kesler ).

Before that unfortunate mishap, the quote was "Was that a shot?" as set by nittanyapple...

What an incredible line! I wonder if Ross ab-libbed that one. Very funny, it sure sounds like something he would say.

Your turn niecie and I'll try to guess on yours.

Artie as the Grand Elector of Saxony (I think?) to Prince Gio in Dancing Death.
beerbad Posted - 05/17/2018 : 10:10:37
Yes, I did see the jacket, after awhile. And, I had to look up Wayne Cochran. Although I was around in the late 1960's (I turned 14 in 1969) I didn't remember him. I liked the Temptations but I didn't care for the James Brown type of soul. Now, later on I did enjoy The Blues Brothers movie but forgot that they mentioned Wayne Cochran. Very interesting how all of this comes around.

OK, the next quote is - "I dub you champion of cheese". From the 1st season.

Clues to follow.

Yep, you got it; your turn, Beerbad.

Oh, and the red and white striped jacket was in Malcolm Lansing's trunk (when Artie was searching it and found the hidden money).

And the singer was Wayne Cochran. (They toned down his pompadour for the role, I guess.)

And I did get it after a long, long time. Probably the slowest answer ever. Thanks for your patience, it is a fun search although it takes me a long time. The answer is Jim to "the necktie party" (really stage coach robbers) in The Night of the Plague.

Really great clues from niecie, I should have known at the "contagious/communicable" clue, but kept looking for that red and white striped jacket.
niecie Posted - 05/10/2018 : 07:35:16
Oo, keep going! You'll find it.

Edited to add: Ok, I think of him as a country singer, but Wikipedia says soul.
beerbad Posted - 05/09/2018 : 07:47:51
And, I saw a nice looking red jacket with white trim on the Mexican patrician fellow in The Night of the Pistoleros. But, anybody would wear that, so I'm going to discount that one, too.
beerbad Posted - 05/09/2018 : 07:45:40
I recovered enough to start checking episodes and watched Jackie DeShannon in Night of the Janus. But, she didn't sing and she's not A COUNTRY SINGER, so that one is out I suppose.
beerbad Posted - 05/08/2018 : 08:49:49
I'm embarassed to say I can't think of a country singer on The Wild Wild West.

Memory fading ... Where am I?

Season 4
Maybe even more than you figured on.

Clue the first:
Who would ever wear that red and white striped jacket???

Clue the second:
Doesn't contagious mean communicable?

Clue the third:
Someone doesn't know how to spell 'farewell.'

Clue the fourth:
Captured, one scruffy-looking gang member (with an incredibly hairy chest).

Clue the fifth:
I presume the reason that one dude was dead drunk was because Artie had, er, treated him to a drink earlier, off screen.

Clue the sixth:
Old fashion necktie party

Clue the seventh:
Ah, Vasquez Rocks!

Clue the eighth:
And a less-than-observant look-out...

Clue the ninth:
And a seven-sided telescopic view...

Clue the tenth:
After an entrance like that, Jim really ought to be looking for a horssssse. Just sayin'.

Wow, I thought Clues seven through ten would give the game away! Ok, continuing on...

Clue the eleventh:
Makes sense, if you cast a country-music singer as one of the gang, you of course have him sing an old standard during the course of the episode.

Clue the twelveth:
Said country-music singer, I might add, passed away not so long ago. *checking Wikipedia...* Ah, about half a year ago - and it seems his birthday is this week.

Season 2

Probably just a whim
niecie Posted - 04/18/2018 : 09:28:29
I don't remember what exactly Capt Fortuna had said to Artie either, but you got it right. The exchange came in the scene when Artie is looking at photos the captain had supplied of various local bad guys; Artie picks out the pic of Poncho (Pancho?) and asks more about him.

Your turn, Cal Gal.

(Oh wait - I think the captain had said that Poncho wasn't as bad as Sordo; hence Artie's reaction.)
California gal Posted - 04/16/2018 : 14:17:39
How about Artie to the local policeman in Jack O'Diamonds, I think when they were out in the desert looking for Jim. The policeman said something about another person that made Artie react that way, but I can't remember what it was.

He isn't, huh?

Clue the first:
I've heard of pub-crawling, but that's ridiculous.

Clue the second:
First thing we see is a guy rolling a wheel.

Clue the third:
As I recall, Jim arrived on a horse (and it sure looked like his usual horse). What became of it?

Clue the fourth:
Vasquez Rocks

Clue the fifth:
The fan girl on the dude's lap
