Yes, the ever-popular game is back! For those who've forgotten, the rules are:

1. One of us quotes an episode (and tells us which season it's from).
2. The rest of us try and guess what episode the quote comes from.
3. The winner (and ONLY the winner - no barging in, please) sets the next one.
4. Like ccb's quizzes, only checking the actual episode is allowed (no other resources, for example books written by Susan Kesler ).

Before that unfortunate mishap, the quote was "Was that a shot?" as set by nittanyapple...

Season 1:

Are you serious?

Clue #1:
The miser, poor fool, not only starves his body, but also his own soul.
- Theodore Parker

Clue #2: The requisite dumb blonde.

Clue #3: It's that time of year... or so some say.

Oh, I didn't mention the episode name. Jack O'Diamonds. And there is only one El Sordo!

I knew it was either at the watering hole or in the camp and I mentally flipped a coin!

Back later with a quote.
niecie Posted - 11/23/2018 : 13:50:25
Actually, it's El Sordo to Jim at the camp when Jim asks what he's going to do with the captured Imperialista, but close enough! Your turn now, Cal Gal!

(Come to think of it, you didn't mention the episode name, but El Sordo is only in one episode, so yeah.)
California gal Posted - 11/23/2018 : 13:32:11
OK, El Sordo to Jim when (I think) JIm asks, what are you going to do with me? At the water hole?

Season 3
After a while, we will think of something.

Clue the first:
That look like a chicken farmer to you? Yeah, not to me either...

Clue the second:
Smiling girl eating an apple

Clue the third:
If Jim offers you a cigar, maybe you shouldn't take it...

Aha!

And why, when Jim gives Artie the opportunity to recite some Shakespeare, does he instead start laughing like a hyena? Is that another clue that this is all a dream?

Anyway...

You are RIGHT!
niecie Posted - 11/18/2018 : 16:30:41
Pretty sure I know the episode. The rest is pure guess: Artie to Jim in TNOT Man-Eating House, when they're in the cage in the basement and Jim wants Artie to lure Day/Dias over to the cage door.

Season 2

How am I going to do that?

Clue #1:
Dreams are rudiments
Of the great state to come. We dream what is
About to happen.
--Philip James Bailey

Clue #2: I still wonder how those critters survived that long!

Clue #3: Many mornings I know just how they feel!

Clue #4:
You're never too old to become younger.
- Mae West

Clue #5:
In silence weep, and thy convulsive sorrow inward keep.
- Matthew Prior

Clue #6: La madre no es feliz.

Yes, that's it! The idea she likes is being alive to face prison.

Your turn, Calgal!
California gal Posted - 10/08/2018 : 09:45:27
I think I finally got it. I figured out the episode earlier but not who spoke it.

TNOT Torture Chamber, Miss Piecemeal to Jim, I think when he tells her she'll have to go to prison (a rarity for this series where pretty women are concerned, I believe).

Season 1
I find I like the idea.

Clue the first:
Artie trips Jim.

Clue the second:
Artie gets knocked down at the start of the fight and only recovers just in time as it's ending. (But then, hey, first season!)

Clue the third:
There's a little controversy over whether a certain item is common or rare. Well, it's so common, it shows up in another episode.

Clue the fourth:
The large clue on the wall behind the desk; notice the placement of the fluffy quill pen.

Clue the fifth:
The Big Bad has a pretty amazing basement - including a cell for the kidnapped man, and a (damp) place in which to nearly kill Our Heroes (along with the speaker of the quote).

Clue the sixth:
Artie throws various bits of his disguise onto the basement floor, and when we next see that part of the floor, all that stuff has vanished. Huh?
