I'm not quite through with "The Night of Montezuma's Hordes." Before Mary escorts us to the next episode for review, let's return to that episode for another WQ.

Here I'm playing with fire by posting this question without refreshing my memory, which could very well be proved wrong. But I think I remember this correctly.

In this show there is a glaring, internal inconsistency about a factual matter, as reported by two of the episode's characters. It's so bad that (a) your aged Quizmaster recalls it as though it were yesterday, 1967, and (b) all of the writers, producers, and actors must have collectively nodded off at the same time.

What is it?

Honorary mentions to couldron, Mills, and Red, with hope that the latter has put that nasty cold behind her.

I don't know what internal inconsistency you all were thinking about, but here's mine:

Act IV, pre-tag tag in the No. 1 Aztec goddess's throne room: Translating for us all, Colonel Sanchez extends her prime minister's thanks for "protect[ing] us from the real enemies, whom you have killed with your own hands."

Tag, in the varnish car: Artie proposes "a toast … to Dr. Johnson, Slade, and his bully boys—all safely behind bars."

Nothing like being raised from the dead to be thrown into the slammer. That's a real bummer.

Ain't that a kick in the pants. I never even noticed it! Guess the birds need their feathers anyway!
