It happens every year, whether on one's birthday or during the holidays. You receive a gift that, well, just isn't quite right. Most friends are understanding; they'll help you return it for something more suitable.

Well, it's happened again. Identify the episodes in which you would return

1. Knicknacks from the Ace Novelty Co.
2. A Petticoat from Maude’s Dress Shoppe
3. A Policy from Cyclops Insurance Agency
4. A Free Session at Phala’s Phrenology Parlor
5. A Baby Grand from New England Piano Works
6. A Pair of Tickets to the Hannibal Amusement Park
7. A Second-Hand Telescope from The Three Anchors
8. Complimentary Meal and Drinks from Zake’s Saloon
9. Decorative Rigging from R. S. Gilbert, Ship’s Chandler
10. Special Services from New Dawn Funeral Parlor (trifle morbid, perhaps)

I can't believe this - I get to it first AND I know half of them!

2. TNOT Watery Death - The Mermaid Tavern has become Maude's Dress Shop when Artie goes looking for it. (and when he sees women's undergarments displayed in the window, he modestly blocks his own view and turns away)

6. TNOT Eccentrics - This is where Jim first meets up with Count Manzeppi.

7. TNOT Watery Death - Where Jim and Artie go to try to find out more about the dragon compact, and where Jim is later captured by Phillip deLaMar (while Artie waits outside).

9. TNOT Iron Man - Where Jim witnesses the owner's murder in the hook.

10. TNOT Ready Made Corpse - Where Artie almost becomes a ready made corpse under the strangling hands of Carrol O'Connor.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I do love your puzzles. I can hardly wait until the day I have more than just a couple of the episodes from later seasons.

Yo, Silver, No. 9 Steel Assassin you mean. I like your revised title, though All the Blue knows are taken except for No. 8 - Bubbling Death.

Yuppers - I realized that this weekend while watching it again. But Artie and Jim keep referring to him as the Iron Man, so I guess that's why that sticks in my mind.

More Feathers:

To couldron (## 1, 3, 4, 6, 7), an Anabella;
To Silver (##2, 7, 9[1/2], 10 ) and Redhead (## 1, 2, 7), a Henrietta each;
To Adorable Blue, a genrous honorable mention for a generous assist on # 9.

More Answers:

5. In his music salon Curtis Dodd ("The Vicious Valentine") played a DiFitzi concert grand. You were playing for the crated instrument that not-so-bright Bosley Cranston dropped on top of a courier in the teaser of "The Night of the Camera."

8. Zake's Saloon was featured in more than one first-season episode but was especially conspicious in "The Night That Terror Stalked the Town." You'll find a photo of Ross Martin hamming it up in front of Zake's on p. 216 of The Kesler Bible.

After a biographical digression this weekend, we shall return to our happy returns on a later date.
