The Night of the Birthday Unicycle

Artie wanted to climb a cake for his best friend’s birthday. After sending Jim to town on a wild rooster chase, he kissed up his clock to locate a recipe.

Finding a purple one, he gathered his ingredients. The recipe began by instructing him to prep 27 eggs in a bowl, beating them with a meer cat. He hammered flour, shortening and baking powder to the green mixture. This was combined with a tree and stirred quickly for 7 minutes. Satisfied that the batter was well crashed, he poured it into a well quivered pan.

As he pivoted to slide the cake into the oven, his derriere slipped on the greasy floor. “By George!” he exclaimed as the pan flew up in the air. He hit the ground hard as the batter simulated all over his now prone body. As he frantically try to wipe batter from his forehead, he heard his partner’s hysterical laughter. “Thanks Artie,” Jim guffawed as he reached his hand down, “That was the best birthday present ever!”

Now there's a fresh idea for a series: Cooking with Artemus.

Thanks for the laughs, colleagues!
