While watching TNot Janus, I wondered when the Denver mint was established. Colorado didn't become a state until 1876. However, I found out that by an Act of Congress on April 21, 1862 the Denver Mint was established and opened for business in 1863 as a United States Assay Office. However, it wasn't until 1895 that an Act of Congress designated the Assay Office as the Denver Mint.
So my question is does this qualify as an anachronism or not?

Hmm. As Holmes said to Watson, this appears to be a two-pipe problem. Let me puff on it.

I know what was in Holmes' pipe. And yours? I watched Returning Dead this week. Truly a wild episode. Somebody was playing tiddly winks with the horses but overall it is a classic. Smoked ham anybody?
