Jim to Artie in TNOT Returning Dead, when Jim tells Artie to fire 3 shots into a bag of (apparently) feed so that it would appear that Jim, Artie and Elizabeth had been shot.

I think it is funny you don't like the episode. Maybe I just overlook its faults because I love Sammy Davis Jr.

Anyway, you got it. My next clue was going to be "sweet shop", that would have been a dead give away.

That's what is so strange. I believe I mentioned this in the review thread for Returning Dead sometime back, but I like Sammy Davis, Jr. too. He was an enormously talented man, and I've seen him in other roles where I loved his performance. But something about this episode--I still cannot entirely explain it. Just turns me off. (I do LOVE the scene where Artie sics the toughs on Jim, which proves that every episode has a good moment or two, regardless!)

Well, let me see what tricky or not-so-tricky quote I can come up with!

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: It's a pleasure.

That has to be as bad as "Jim".

How about Artemus to Jim in TNOT Ready-Made Corpse.

Nope, not Ready-Made Corpse. Try again.

James: Thanks, Artie.

Time for a hint Cal Gal. I thought it sounded like Loveless, but if it is, I haven't found it yet and I had already scratched Ready-Made Corpse off my list.

I was afraid it was going to come to this.

Let's start with an easy one. Think of the color purple. No, not the movie or the book. Not Oprah. Not Whoopie. Just the color purple. Associate it, and you'll come up with the episode.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?

Hmmm. Does this mean that Ready-Made Corpse might be in the running. Lavendar is certainly purplish. However I do remember a positively scrumptious looking purplish hued outfit that an equally scrumptious looking Sherry Jackson wore in Vicious Valentine. I think it's time to give that ep a gander.

I already said it was not Ready-Made Corpse. And the clue has nothing to do with the color actually showing up in an episode, in any shade.

Think outside the box, as the saying goes.

If no one comes up with it, I'll try to think of another easy clue later today.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?

Purple makes me think of royalty which fits several Season 2 episodes (also makes me think of bruises and flowers and Taco Bell, but I think I will tackle the royalty angle first).

I'll save you a little work. Not royalty. The connection is from the long distance past, and I'll throw in another that connects to the purple too--"Rawhide." Or maybe you are all just too young!

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?

I think I'm to young to be trying my brain at this game! Now all I can see even when I close my eyes is purple rawhide lol.

Agents! Ya can't live with them. And Admin takes a rather dim view to ya blowing em up.

Well, let's try this clue:

That's an odd place for a knife!

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?

Not helping lol. I'm going to have to drag out some DVDs when Kenneth gets back. GRRR I feel like I should know this one! I just can't place it.

Well, you know it's harder to think of clues that won't simply give the whole thing away than it is to find a quote!

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?

That's true that's also why I usually try to stay away from this game lol. But this quote seems like one I've heard a lot before so I'm thinking its in an ep I give more air time to. Now to just figure out which one lol.

OK people, let's get this "finished." If you don't solve it from this clue, I may have to tell you the answer!

Roswell.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?

Well you narrowed it down to one episode - but I had to watch it 'cause I couldn't remember the line

Jim to Whitey's character (don't know his name) - Flying Pie Plate

What's purple? Flying purple people eater?

Yes! Purple People Eater! One Eyed One Horned... Sheb Woolley (Pete Nolan on Rawhide) recorded it. I thought thinking about aliens from outer space might...

You got it, DT.

James: Thanks, Artie.

I'm betting this one goes long before I have to think up an obscure clue. Sometimes figuring out the clue is harder remembering the quote.

Season 2 again.

"And what is that?"

I think Whitey played 'Jerry" in this one...

That is a Wellington, Mr. Ambassador. If you'll step this way, you may encounter the surreal McCoy.

I can think of about 10 season 1 eps where this might apply. Guess I'll have to force myself to watch some...

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?

I'm embarrassed to confess that I'm now unsure of the precise wording. Maybe it goes, "Is this a social visit?" Six of one, half-dozen of the other, and I'll settle for either.

Season one is a hard one for me. I keep getting distracted by the special features and episodes I haven't seen in a while. I thought it might be Lydia Monteran to Jim in Inferno, but she says "Is this business."
