Deputy Clerk Porter Richards to Artie and Aunt Martha in Human Trigger.

Soon as I saw the clue, I knew which episode, and which scene--but couldn't remember which of the characters said it!

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: It's a pleasure.

Cadwalader (or however it is spelled) was ahead of his time. Now it is your time to give us a stumper.

Trouble is, when I think I've got a stumper, someone gets it immediately. It's when I give up and offer an "easy" one...

But let me check my files.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: It's a pleasure.

Let's try this:

Season 3:

All right, why?

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: It's a pleasure.

Time for a clue. I think it's Artie, but I can't picture the scene.

I'm feeling generous. I'll give you two clues!

1. It's not Artie, though he is present when it is spoken.

2. Alone! that worn-out word,
So idly spoken, and so coldly heard;
Yet all that poets sing, and grief hath known, Of hopes laid waste, knells in that word--Alone.
-- Lord Edward Robert Bulwer Lytton, 1st Earl of Lytton ("Owen Meredith")

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: It's a pleasure.

And you complained about my clues!

Take it away, DT!

Gotta figure it's either Jim or Artie saying it, right? It is Jim. Which episode?

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.

You've got it, Falcon. You're up at bat.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?

Wild guess:

Vixen to Jim in Firebrand?

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?

Whadya know? I could hear it in a woman's voice but wasn't absolutely certain.

OK, let's try this:

Season 4:

How can I do that?

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.

Total wrong guess. Except you are right that it's not spoken by one of our heroes.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?

One more total guess: The girl who fronted for Mr. Bock in 'Juggernaut'? She was speaking to Jim?

Nope.

I'll see if I can come up with an obscure clue or two today.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.

I'll give a quick clue while I try to think of something else: it is spoken by a male.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.

Boy, it's hard thinking of clues that won't give the whole thing away instantly! How about this?

Hello, kitty.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.
