That sounds like it was from "The Night of the Ready-Made Corpse."

Nope, not Ready Made Corpse. I'll try to come up with a clue later today, although I could say that the color I used is something of a clue.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: It's a pleasure.

Season 2:

I think we have it around here someplace.

Clue #1:

The whole world is strewn with snares, traps, gins and pitfalls for the capture of men by women.
- George Bernard Shaw,Epistle Dedicatory to Man and Superman

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?

I'm pretty sure of the episode, but wild guessing the speaker and spoken to:

Vicious Valentine, Artie to... Jim?

Righto! It was when Jim started noticing the broken font and asked Artie if they still had a previous thank you card or something.

Your turn.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?

Eureka! There aren't that many season 3 episodes in which Artie has three disguises. (I long ago made up a list for myself of Artie's disguises, so I knew exactly which episodes to check.) Add to that the clue of 'A kiss is a kiss is a kiss...' and I decided to watch TNOT Assassin, in which Jim dodges the Mexican soldiers by kissing a convenient seņorita.

And there was the quote: Artie to Jim, once they find where Halvorson hid the letter.

Eureka! You've got it. (Plus Jim goes into disguise as a Mexican soldier to get to Halvorson in the jail.)

Go for it!

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.

Y'know, I was thinking the other disguise was Halvorson's, as a padre.

I could have said 5 disguises...

James: Thanks, Artie.
