Season 4
You got brains too.

Clue the first:
If you squint hard enough, maybe you can pretend that Artie's lurking around here...
Clue the second:
Two actors playing one role, or one actor playing two roles? (Or maybe a bit of both...)

Clue the third:
The obligatory large empty crates to be smashed up in the heat of battle!

That sounds like something a mook would say... is it to Jim in "The Night of the Camera"?

Not Jim talking, not TNOT Camera.

EDIT: Oops, I just now read CL's guess again and realized he wasn't offering Jim as the speaker, but as the spoken to - and that is RIGHT!

I haven't checked this thread in ages...luckily, this one was a finger snap: Corporal Simon speaking to Mr. West in "TNOT Pelican".

Actually, I finally remembered to load up the episode and watch it. It's the clock salesman in Infernal Machine talking to Jim while also trying to convince Jim he doesn't want that old clock fixed; he wants a new one! (And Jim just smiles and rides off to confront Zeno Baroda.)

The episode is in fact Avaricious Actuary (I can't think of anywhere else in Season 4 that someone breathes on forks!), but the speaker is not the bad guy.

As we've already established that the episode is Avaricious Actuary and that the speaker is not the bad guy, I'm not sure what more to say in terms of clues, therefore:

How about one of the nabobs playing poker in the exclusive club to Artie? (in Avaricious Actuary)

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: It's a pleasure.

Jim to the ticket girl in Avaricious Actuary.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
