Nope, not Jim, not the arcade girl.

Wow. Running out of characters!

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: It's a pleasure.

Artie is right; Arden is wrong.

To summarize:

Season 4
You might call it that, only a very special kind.

Clue the first:
Dancing dishes
Clue the second:
Rough on the ears
Clue the third:
A dramatic slam of the door
Clue the fourth:
So, uh... is that sanitary, breathing on the forks to polish them?
Clue the fifth:
Noooooobody expects the United States Secret Service!
Clue the sixth:
Oh, hello there, chandelier!

We know the episode is Avaricious Actuary, the speaker is Artie, and the spoken to is NOT:
  • Arden Masterson,
  • the ticket girl at the arcade, or
  • Artie.

Clue the seventh:
The majority of the clues - all of them, in fact, except the third and fourth - point to the actual scene in which the line is spoken.

Well, I can think of one other character.

Artie to General Caswell.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.

I only had to watch about 2 minutes of the teaser to find it!

Avaricious Actuary, Artie to Taney, after the house starts shaking and Taney asks, "What is it, an earthquake?"

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: It's a pleasure.

Completely correct! *whew!* Ok, glad to hand over the reins; Cal Gal, your turn to stump us!

(I was beginning to be afraid that the fact that I said the Bad Guy didn't say the line had people crossing him off the list of those the line could have been said to.)

Actually, it was more that for some reason I didn't think of Taney when I was mentally reviewing the characters and their scenes.

I will find a new quote soon.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.
