Wolfe is the speaker, but that's not the one he was speaking to.

Season 1
A great and important project.

Clue the first:
Instant demotion
Clue the second:
Windbag.

Let's see...
Clue the third:
Keeps shooting things through the head...

Wolfe to Jim?

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: It's a pleasure.

There you go.

(Jim shot his wanted poster through the head, if memory serves, and also shot the head off the rooster on the weather vane.)

Your turn, Cal Gal!

I happened to watch several episodes of WWW last night, and later looked at the quote. And I think maybe it's from Death Masks, spoken by one of the trio from the stagecoach - the dr, I believe - to Artie, claiming that's where they had recently met Jim (just before they drug Artie with the coffee, and he tries to diagnose himself as he's passing out).

Oh. I knew it was one of two guys as the speaker but I couldn't think of which or where or when. I started to get warm as far as the episode, but still couldn't hit on it. I think I may have it now.

Artie to Sally in TNOT Cut-Throats, I believe when Trayne appears as Artie is supposed to be heading for the fort for help.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.

Bingo! Your turn!

(The remaining two clues I had yet to post, by the way, were 'Uncle Fester - and his pie' and 'Foot bath' - so, yeah, I was running out of clues!)
