I was about 95% sure, considering the source, that it had to be something Jim said. Then I started remembering hearing him saying that in a teasing manner and figured out where he said it. Watched the episode to be sure.
I'll come up with something in a while. |
James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"? James: Thanks, Artie. Artemus: It's a pleasure. - TNOT Pistoleros |

Oh, I was close again--I was going to watch that episode last night, too, but watched "The Night of the Running Death" instead.
Darn!
Oh, well. Good just, Cali Girl! |

Oohh! (Smacks self in the forehead) Sheesh--I was watching that part for the line, and it just completely blew over my head. I must have completely forgot the line I was looking for. Wowsers!
I like the dinner scene, though. Crystal's hysterical when she's drunk! ("I want to get out of here--you talk too much.") |

Don't worry. It happens to all of us. That's why you see the occasional "slap" mark on our foreheads. |

Hmmm. Clues in your answers.
Not Artemus saying the line so there goes about 50% of the choices there.
Not about Jim. There goes another 50%.
Wait that's 100% already....so no one said it!

ARGGGG!!!
I've gone through every gourmet and fat-man-actor episode I know in the first season. Jim never says it--Artie never says it--nobody will say it!
What am I missing?!?!?!?!

Keep on thinking. It's kind of an obscure quote that doesn't have a lot to do with the action in the episode, but the sequence it appears it is... wait. That's too much info so early. You have to wait at least 24 hours for a really obscure clue! |

That would make sense, because he's talking about how he's "earned his milk".

WWWchicky is right, Ecstasy. Not the cat. Big Hint: It's spoken about a person. |

Okay, so let me organize my facts, just to make it clear to myself:
1) The quote is "He gets fat on trouble."
2) It is in a Season 1 episode.
3) It is spoken neither by Jim nor Artie.
4) It is about a person, not an animal, vegetable, or mineral.
5) The quote does not have to do with the main plot of the episode, yet it has everything to do with the scene it's in.
Okay--I'm lost. Anyone have any ideas? |

It's Jim (as Robert Crandell) talking to Agent Richard Henry about Artie (who's playing a Mexican Colonel) in "The Night of the Freeboaters."
Am I right???? |
