This is an odd topic, but I'll bite.

Was there ever anytime when Artie was really mad at Jim? That would be a good time to get smashed.

WWWchicky :>

Artie: James…you’re always hanging around.

Jim: An occupational hazard—lately, I seem to get tied up in my work.

The people have spoken--you guys need a hint!

Hmm...well, I guess you guys already assume it's not said by a lady for obvious reasons (and you're right about that)...

Oh! Okay. It's not said by Jim.

Does that narrow it down a little?

I watched a couple S1 eps tonight to no avail. Might need a Sunday clue. Something a little more obscure.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: It's a pleasure.

Okay, here's another hint--it isn't said by Artie, either.

I keep thinking it's one of our grandiose madmen. Is it Thorald Wolfe in Freebooters?

Jim: "Who'd believe it?"
Artie: "I would"
Jim: "Why?"

Well, since it's not Jim or Artie, and you've guessed a couple wrongly, PE, that leaves us about 200 characters remaining in season 1!

I think your clues need to be a bit more obscure, WWWchicky! LOL!

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?

Ahhh but CG, she said it was good guess! I still think it's one of our villains.

Cadwallader in Human Trigger?

(If we keep guessing and elininating...)

As Henry Higgins would say.

I think she's got it!

A vague memory is popping up of Cadwallader saying that a little before he talks about blood being thicker than water (to daughter Faith).

Looks like chibbi wanted those brownie points. I haven't watched that ep in a while but I probably would have said Faith too, because he held the lengthiest conversations with her, I believe. My second guess would be to Jim. My third to Artie. My fourth to his sons. My fifth to his henchmen... Nothing like covering all bases!

But now I have to concentrate on finding a tricky quote. I watched an ep last night that had a couple of interesting ones, but I didn't write them down. Might have to take another look and make notes.
