However, we are talking about a quote from the show besides that!!

Get technical why don't you

You might have a bit of a wait (tonight), unless of course I can get a quote out of my memory banks. Will post if the old grey cells let loose something.

I think I know the voice, too, but I don't know about the episode. I have an idea of what he's doing, though...

First wild guess: Artie in Bogus Bandits.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: It's a pleasure.

Well, as Richard Dawson would say, "This is a sticky wicket."

I can hear Artie saying this perfectly, and I'm pretty sure I know what he's saying thank you to, but I can't think of when it happened--though I think it might be at the end of the episode...

I don't know--break a leg, Cali Girl!

that is CORRECT

it's Artie talking disguised as the artist living in the boarding house

a funny scene

before he is shot in his perfectly good sketch pad later on in this episode

Thanks, Roger. I have to wait for chibbi to return and give me the official ok.

Artie in Bogus Bandits ended up my first guess too, but I forgot who he was talking to so I didn't even try yet.

Would you care to supply, for bonus points, whom he said it to?

Just kidding.

Thanks.

To be honest I wasn't sure who he was speaking to until Roger provided a clue. Now I can picture it perfectly. I think remembering that overdone southern accent helped me remember the episode (and disguise)!

Hmm, the quotes are being solved too fast, aren't they? I must see if I can find a REALLY tricky one for the weekend. I'll be back.

James: Thanks, Artie.

Actually the "you lovely ladies..." came before the line. He said the "thank you" to one of the other borders around the dinner table.

Let's try this.

From season 4:

I have always maintained that the end justifies the means.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.

Oh, blast! It's from that Doctor (whose name escapes me but played Dr. Shrinker on a 70's morning kids show) to Jim in TNOT...AUGH!!! the title is gone. I know this episode. I can see the actor saying the words....*slaps head* I'm drawing a blank and I have to leave to help with a job.

Note: If I'm wrong I've just slapped my head for nothing.

Well, to be honest, from that description I can't tell whether you're right or wrong!

One part that is right is that it was said to Jim.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?

Hey--DR and Chibbi both guessed on this one.

If they're both right, does that mean that we'll have (drumroll, please)...A double quote???

It's just a thought.
