I'm not entirely sure how the S.P.A. works, but maybe a degree or two from ST?

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: It's a pleasure.

I can't believe that nobody has picked up on my very non-obscure clue! I guess I'm going to have to be even more transparent.

"The Champs" had an instrumental hit with a song bearing the name of a line which is also spoken in this episode.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: It's a pleasure.

Presume you mean TNOT Spanish Curse.

But no, that's not the answer. Here's another musical clue:

"I'll be with you in apple blossom time..."

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.

Gosh, I really thought this was going to be an easy one. I'm not sure if I can come up with another clue without giving the game away... and I might have to do it at this rate.

I'll see how it goes through tomorrow, I guess. In case anyone missed it, the quote is from season 4:

Guess I'd better.

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?

Ok the instrumental hit is none other than Tequila...is it Bock to Arte (in disguise) in Juggernaut?

Crumbs no, that isn't it! It is Jim to...in Pistoleros. He says "Tequila, por favor", in Pistoleros. Just can't remember who he says, "Guess I better" to~~unless it isn't Jim at all...

You're on the right track with the right episode!

James: Thanks, Artie.

Hooray! You got it! Now you get to find a quote to stump us.

James: Thanks, Artie.

Tell me, though, did anyone get my clues?

The close degree to Star Trek is the fact that Robert Pine (Lt. Murray) is the father of Chris Pine, the newest Jim Kirk.

"I'll be with you in apple blossom time..." Sgt. Tobin mentions to Jim that there were apple orchards in bloom when they were at Shiloh.

And "Tequila!" of course referred to two quotes in the cantina. If you listen closely, you can hear Jim call for tequila as he walks by the dancing senorita, then later he asks for another glass when she joins him.

I don't know how I could have been clearer! I really don't know what I would have said next, so thank you for guessing it, Pet!

James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: "Thanks Artie"! Is that all you can say to me? I've just come back from the grave, risen like Lazarus, and that's what you say? "Thanks, Artie"?
James: Thanks, Artie.
Artemus: It's a pleasure.

I'd like to step in and point out that Robert Pine also has a Bacon number of 2. Son Chris has a number of 1—almost no separation at all from King Kevin.

I should have used that! Pet wouldn't have slept for a week!
